Maybe you’re planning a bathroom remodeling project or upgrade and you’d love to create your own hotel bath retreat. It’s not difficult to incorporate some, if not all of the luxury features you’ve seen in the upscale hotel baths. Of course you don’t have to undertake a major bathroom remodeling project in order to create your own luxury hotel style bath. If you’re stuck for ideas look through your favorite bathroom remodeling magazines. Start a scrap book or keep a folder of all the things that catch your eye. Check out images from hotel brochures as well as hotel websites online. Take note of what you think makes them stand out and how you might be able to reproduce the look. Remove the Clutter and Organize To create the feel of a luxury hotel bath you need to remove the clutter. No makeup, or tangled cords from hair blowers and electric curlers on the sink vanity. Use storage bins to organize and store everything out of site. If you have the room, consider investing in a separate storage cabinet. Use one with glass doors to display a few of your favorite things and stacks of fluffy bath towels. Or install some shelves and store everything neatly organized in wire or wooden baskets. Coordinating Your Shower Heads and Bath Fixtures Where whirlpool tubs and saunas once ruled, today high end showers seem to be the must have in bathroom luxury, from decorative wall tiles, to programmable shower heads.
If you want to create the quality feel of a luxury hotel bath in your own home start by changing the shower heads. It’s probably one of the easiest do-it-yourself projects that you can undertake to provide big impact. Choose rain can or handheld showerheads to pamper yourself from head to toe. While you’re shopping for your new shower heads remember to select coordinating faucets, towel holders and toilet paper holders. One of the key elements of an upscale hotel bath is that everything matches or blends together for a soothing uniform look. Bathroom Accessories Add the Chic Bathroom accessories are what will set the mood for your new bath design. Add things like scented candles, jars with all your favorite bath beads and salts, decorative bottles of body wash and a bowl filled with bars of hand milled soaps. Replace your old mismatched towels with large fluffy bath towels. Most hotels use white because white is easier to launder but the high end luxury hotels will often use soft shades of cream or green. Just remember to keep the colors light. Use baskets to store rolled washcloths and hand towels. Don’t forget other bathroom accessories like oversized bath mats and a coordinating shower curtain. If you have windows in your bathroom the window treatments can be an all important feature. Add simple blinds or curtains but definitely avoid heavy patterns or ruffles. The real key to turning your existing bathroom into a lavish hotel bath is simply envisioning how that bath made you feel and then recreating that feeling. Whether you’re doing a complete bathroom remodeling project or just want to give your bathroom a facelift, simply by making a few simple changes it’s possible for you to create your own inviting chic hotel style bathroom.
